Notes from a Misty Morning Walk

There was a misty morning that has stayed with me.
I had gone out for a short walk, with no particular plan in mind. I just felt like getting some fresh air and moving a little.

The world felt so still. The mist hung low, softening everything. Trees, rooftops, even sounds seemed gentler and quieter. It felt as if the whole place had been wrapped in a blanket.

As I walked along the lane behind our house, I noticed spiderwebs glistening with tiny drops of water. They were strung between the branches like little pieces of jewellery. I remember stopping to look at them. There was something almost magical about the way they caught the light.

A blackbird was singing somewhere nearby. Other than that, it was so quiet. The kind of quiet that makes you slow your pace and take everything in.

The mist made everything feel close and calm. I found myself noticing small details. The texture of the leaves. The damp scent of the earth. The way the cool air touched my face.

It was not a long walk, but I returned home feeling lighter. It was as if the mist had cleared something inside me too.

I often think about that walk. How simple it was, yet how grounding.
It reminds me that sometimes, just being out in nature and paying attention to what is around you can completely shift your mood.
